Ponnuthambi Pillai

Ponnuthambi Pillai, known as La Porte, walked into a Pondicherry courtroom in European shoes and was fined for it. He took the case to Paris and won. He later led the renonçants — Indians who claimed the civil rights of French citizens.

A Queen bed, a single seater, a study table, pantry, wardrobe, a television table, and a traditional fountain. The shower is attached. There is no balcony. A room of modest dignity: a bed, a chair, a desk.
